Join us for a spectacular wine dinner with vintner Enrico Santini who produces wine from a vineyard that includes 17 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese and Petit Verdot; a five acre plot of Vermentino and Sauvignon Blanc and a 10 acre plot of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Santini grows his grapes organically and severely limits his use of copper sulfates and sulfur, chemicals approved for organic farming.
Before delving into growing grapes and making wine Santini spent 15 years working in the supermarket industry. He first worked for a friends winery and after three years went out on his own with -- as his website says - "with no winery, no vineyards, no tools". He planted his first vineyard in 1998 and transformed the garage and basement of his home into a winery.
Santini is a native of the area of Bolgheri. His love of the land and the the microclimate of his native Tuscan coastal community led to his decision to plant vineyards. He first produced wine in 1999 and was quickly recognized as a future star wine producer in Bolgheri.
When you join us for dinner this evening you'll not only taste Santini's great wines but you'll enjoy a variety of courses from favorite dishes on our menu -- dishes chosen because they pair beautifully with the wines.
